|The Air Resources Board (ARB) has several new and existing regulations designed to reduce emissions from diesel vehicles and equipment operating in California. This course will provide a brief overview of the regulations including; Idling, Heavy-Duty Vehicle Inspection Program (HDVIP), engine labeling, diesel emission control strategies, On-Road Public Fleet Regulation, In-Use Off-Road Diesel Vehicle Regulation, and the Portable Equipment Registration Program (PERP). This course will also cover regulations that prohibit the release of fugitive dust from construction projects. These regulations are needed to meet federal, state, and local air pollution mandates, reduce the public's exposure to cancer-causing exhaust, as well as reduce the ambient air particulate concentration.
ARB staff has developed this training to educate maintenance workers about the basic regulatory requirements for heavy-duty diesel vehicles and provide awareness on which elements of the regulations maintenance workers may be accountable for.
